Only registered operators can sell boat trip tickets: Lobo

Calangute: Only registered watersports operators should be allowed to sell tickets for boat trips to curb overcharging by touts and agents, said Calangute MLA Michael Lobo at the inauguration of the renovated Sinquerim jetty watersports counter, fishing ramp and other facilities.
Lobo said touts and agents, who charge double the rates for boat trips, are bringing a bad name to the actual watersports operators. “The panchayats should shut all shops offering boat trips that are not registered watersports operators,” he said.
“The renovated facilities at the Sinquerim jetty will be a boost for watersports and also fishermen,” Lobo added.
Candolim sarpanch Fermino Fernandes said the watersports activities in Sinquerim and Candolim will continue to remain with the locals.
