GAYA: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan met the Tamil Nadu governor R N Ravi on Monday and handed over a memorandum to him on the issue of alleged harassment being caused to the migrant workers there from Bihar.
"The governor listened to us seriously and assured to send correct information on the issue to the central government soon," Chirag said at a press conference in Chennai. "Some antisocial elements are behind such incidents or spreading rumours. Whatever may be the reason, there is a need to identify such people and take strict action against them," he added. Chirag also urged all the political parties to avoid causing rift among people.
"At a time like this, it is the responsibility of all political parties and their leaders not to encourage division in the society. I know that sometimes the state, caste or community gets a bad name because of some people. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the administration to identify such people ," he said.
