Gay partner kills businessman for forcing him to continue affair in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 44-year-old businessman who was found murdered in an old building at Nayandahalli, off Mysuru Road, on February 28 was allegedly bludgeoned and stabbed to death by his homsexual partner. Reason: The businessman was not consenting to his partner's plea to end their relationship.
The businessman, Liyakath Ali Khan, was hit by the suspected killer, Ilyaz Khan, 26, on the head with a hammer and stabbed with a pair of scissors, police said.
Incidentally, Liyakath had married his second wife on February 22. He had two children from his first wife with whom he was living in Chandra Layout.
The businessman's 17-year-old son found him hacked to death around 2am on February 28. The boy had been searching for his father - who ran an advertisement printing agency - as he hadn't returned home. The teen filed a complaint with police suspecting the involvement of three persons, including Ilyaz. He had suspected financial dispute behind the murder.
According to police, Ilyaz, a construction worker from JJ Nagar, came in contact with Liyakath about three years ago at a gym. A year after becoming friends, the duo entered into a relationship.
Police said on the day of the incident, the duo met in Liyakath's old building. After having sex, they fought over the issue of break-up. Police said in a press release that Ilyaz wanted to enter into a wedlock with the girl fixed by his parents and end his relationship with Liyakath. But Liyakath refused to end the relationship and forced Ilyas to continue with it. The two had been having arguments over the same for many days.
When Liyakath stood his ground, an enraged Ilyas killed him. The accused returned home around 11pm and took some sleeping pills. Next morning, his father found him suffering from pain and rushed him to a hospital. He also filed a police complaint stating that his son had attempted suicide.
DCP west Lakshman Nimbargi told TOI that the accused was discharged from hospital on Monday and was produced before a court, which remanded him in judicial custody.
