NOIDA: People who have taken membership in the under-construction Noida International Golf Club in Sector 151A can play in the existing facility in Sector 38. So far, about 750 people have taken the membership.
Officials said the new golf course would be ready by the end of the year. Afterwards, the members of the two golf courses can use both the facilities interchangeably under a reciprocal agreement.
At present, slots are open for subscribing 1,000 members. While the fee to become a member in the general category is Rs 10 lakh, it is Rs 3 lakh for the reserved quota.
The Noida Authority has so far received about Rs 26 crore in membership fees. The amount is being utilised in constructing the golf course, whose about 50% of the construction work has been completed, officials said.
Being built at a cost of Rs 94 crore over 113 acres of land in Sector 151A, the project has been facing issues related to land acquisition. The construction that started on July 1, 2021, was supposed to be completed by December 31, 2022.
Officials said the facility to play golf would be provided at Noida Golf Course, Sector 38, on a first come, first serve basis. Under the plan, a member would be allowed to play golf for four days a month, so that all members could get a chance.
“Members playing golf under the reciprocal arrangement will be required to pay all fees for the day such as cart fees, caddy fees and refreshment fees among others,” an official said.
Along with a golf course, club, banquet hall, and park are being constructed on seven acres in the golf course complex. The club will have a conference hall, gym, spa, luxury suites, guest rooms, swimming pool and a green area for events.
Besides playing golf, entrepreneurs can also use this complex to hold their meetings and international-level events.
