KODERMA: Deoghar BJP MLA Narayan Das has requested health minister Banna Gupta to develop Deoghar Sadar Hospital on the lines of Koderma Sadar Hospital, impressed by the latter's functioning. Das approached Gupta in this regard during the budget session last week.
He said, "Sadar hospital in Koderma is well equipped and everyone should visit it to see its infrastructure. The facility has transformed itself in terms of look and competency with the help of the district administration."
There have been qualitative changes in the hospital in the last two years. In the pathology lab, 15-20 types of tests were conducted earlier. Now, it is 94 including screening for oral and breast cancer, thyroid and vitamins etc. "In the last 11 months, on an average monthly 8000 blood samples were tested, which used to be 2000 earlier," said Koderma deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan.
The official said it is the endeavour of the district administration that the faith of the common people should be maintained on the government health system and they should get the benefits of quality health facilities.
He said, "In order to provide better healthcare services 20 new doctors have been appointed. Earlier, only seven doctors were working against the total sanctioned post of 27. In 2022, a total of 1.5 lakh patients were treated in the outpatient department (OPD) whereas in 2021, the figure was 94,423 and in 2020, it was 92,431. Koderma is the first district in the state where gifts are given to patients undergoing treatment under the Ayushman Bharat health scheme. In the last 11 months, 7553 patients have been treated under the scheme."
