Centre to bring in e-commerce policy for online retailers

New Delhi, Mar 7 (KNN) The union government is working to bring in an e-commerce policy for online retailers, said Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Monday.
Addressing a conference on FMCG and e-commerce in New Delhi, the Joint Secretary informed that a national retail policy for brick and mortar retail traders will also be introduced.
The retail policy will promote ease of doing business and help in providing better infrastructure and more credit to traders.
“ We want complete synergy between e-commerce and retail traders,” he said.
DPIIT is also in the process of formulating an insurance scheme for all the retail traders.
“This policy will be beneficial particularly to the small traders of the country,” he added.
The Joint Secretary urged the industry to focus on producing high quality products. (KNN Bureau)
