TN people will never accept BJP: Udhayanidhi
Coimbatore: Hitting out at the BJP, state youth welfare minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said the people of Tamil Nadu will never accept any party that practices hate politics.
Addressing a public meeting in the city on Sunday, Udhayanidhi Stalin said the BJP has been bent upon dividing people by spreading hatred among them.
Referring to the controversy over fake videos on guest workers in Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi said the people of the state would teach a lesson to BJP for spreading such false news. “The party as a policy spreads lies,” he said. He said one of the reasons for AIADMK’s defeat in Erode East byelection was its alliance with the BJP.
He said cadres should begin their work for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections immediately. Udhayanidhi said in the 2019 elections, DMK alliance won only 38 seats. But in 2024, the alliance should win all the 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, he said.
Earlier in the day, Udhayanidhi flagged off a rekla race organised to mark the 70th birthday celebrations of chief minister M K Stalin and inaugurated an exhibition of products made by self-help groups from across the country. He also presided wedding of 81 couples in the city, which was also part of Stalin’s birthday celebrations. TNN
