JAIPUR: The city police on Sunday arrested two men for allegedly killing their 22-year-old friend by pushing him into a well, after a nasty quarrel at a party last month in Kanota. Police identified the accused as Vijendra alias Vijay Bairwa (29) of Karauli, and Veeru Bairwa (26), a resident of Dausa.
As per police, the accused had been absconding after the murder of their friend Rishi Raj Meena (22) on February 21. Police claimed that Vijendra on February 21 organised a party for his friends.
"He (Vijendra) was going abroad, so he hosted a little get-together for all his friends. He also purchased liquor for them," said an officer. The investigators discovered that Vijendra had a noisy quarrel with Meena at the party after Meena made derogatory remarks about Vijendra's wife.
"Their friends managed to intervene and stopped the two from fighting," the officer said. Vijendra and Meena then went to the house of a common friend and resumed drinking. Police learnt that both Vijendra and Meena were again at loggerheads due to another alleged insensitive remark made by Meena.
"We learnt that Meena made some disrespectful remarks about Vijendra's wife and then made equally insulting comments about women from Vijendra's community," said the officer.
Vijendra and Veeru, belonging to the same community, got offended and pushed Meena into a well. The duo then fled from the scene.
