HYDERABAD: President of India’s official retreat home, Rashtrapati Nilayam R P Nilayam, situated at Bolarum in Secunderabad Cantonment, will be opened for the visitors from March 22, on the eve of Telugu New Year, Ugadi.
On Monday, the Rashtrapati Nilayam authorities announced it in an official statement, in Hyderabad.
“The inauguration ceremony of opening of Rashtrapati Nilayam will be held virtually through video-conference by Droupadi Murmu at 11am from Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi. Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan will grace the occasion with her presence at Rashtrapati Nilayam.
A meeting with officials of the different departments has been convened by the additional secretary to the President, Dr Rakesh Gupta at R P Nilayam at Bolarum, to streamline and facilitate the opening of Rashtrapati Nilayam.
“For easy access and seamless visit, visitors can book online tickets from March 14 onwards through the official website of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The booking can be also done on the spot by scanning QR code. Registration charges will be Rs 50 per person for Indian Nationals and Rs 250 per person for foreign nationals,” stated the release.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam will open on all days except Mondays and other government holidays between 10am and 5pm, with the last entry at 4pm.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam is a 162-year-old heritage property and the only Presidential retreat in Southern India. This retreat is visited by the President of India every year during winter.
