Chemical unit gutted in midnight inferno, none hurt

Vadodara: Massive fire broke out in a private chemical company in Padra taluka late on Saturday night. The incident occurred at about 1.30am when not many persons were present on the Vision Products Private Ltd premises. Fire officials said that no one was injured in the incident but the company suffered extensive damages.
According to the fire brigade officials, the control room got a call at about 1.30am about fire erupting in the company’s plant near Muhavad village. Two firefighting vans from Vadodara city rushed to the spot while another six fire vans from the companies nearby joined the efforts to douse the flames.
“It was a massive inferno which inflicted huge damage to the entire plant. But fortunately no one was injured in the incident as it was closed and only the guards were present at the spot,” Harshvardhan Puar, fire officer told TOI.
“It took us about six hours to douse the flames. It is difficult to ascertain the reasons behind the inferno. An FSL examination and detailed inquiry will help in understanding the reasons,” Puar added.
Panic spread in the areas around the company as smoke billowed from the plant and the fire could be seen from a distance too.
Vision Products Pvt Ltd was founded in 2005 and it manufactures industrial resins, polyester and a range of other products.
