GURGAON: An executive working at a private company in DLF 3 was allegedly beaten up by a drunk man after he refused to share his cigarette on Thursday.
The man, in his 30s, in his police complaint, said, “At 12.10pm, I came out of my office after finishing my work. I was near DLF park when a man coming from the opposite direction, asked me to share my cigarette. As I refused, he started abusing me. I ignored him and started walking towards my office building to avoid any confrontation.”
The drunk man chased him towards his office and punched him on his nose and face.
“While leaving, he threatened me with dire consequences. I enquired about him from nearby shops and got to know that he is Bhola, alias Pawan, a resident of Nathupur village. I also clicked some of his pictures,” the man told police.
Police said that they got information about the matter from the hospital and a team was sent there. “But the victim had left for home after the treatment. He was later contacted. He assured us that he would submit a written complaint.
“On Friday, we received a written complaint from the victim and an FIR was registered under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. We are checking the CCTV footage of the area and will nab him soon,” said Umesh Kumar, SHO of DLF 3 police station.
