2 held for hoarding petrol in Cachar

Silchar: The Cachar police launched a crackdown on the hoaders of petroleum products in Silchar and seized a considerable amount of petrol and diesel. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.
A senior official said the police team along with the department of supply officials and a magistrate raided a godown near the Indian Oil Corporation depot at Mainarband near here on Saturday. The team seized a huge consignment of petrol and diesel hoarded in 30 containers. SP (Cachar) Numal Mahatta told the media that the petrol and diesel were stolen from tankers moving out from the depot. TNN
