Roseville — One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting Monday near Steenland Elementary School that led to a brief lockdown, police said.

Officer Brady Fishburn said one person was injured in the shooting at about 3:30 p.m.

The incident was reported at Barkman and Chestnut, said Mark Blaszkowski, superintendent of Roseville Community Schools, in a statement to parents and staff. That intersection is directly outside Steenland.

No one from the school, which is also near Roseville Middle, was involved in the shooting.

"The victim is being treated at an area hospital," Deputy Chief Mitch Berlin said in a statement. "There is no danger to the public at this time."

Other details were not released.

"Steenland Elementary was put into shelter in place and their release was delayed. Roseville Middle School students were already released, however, we put the school into shelter in place for any remaining staff or students due to the proximity of the building to the incident," Blaszkowski said. "... All shelters in place have been lifted at this time."
