84 cars worth over Rs 5.53 crore seized

VADODARA: The city’s crime branch sleuths seized 84 cars worth Rs 5.53 crore after they busted a racket wherein a gang used to dupe people by taking the vehicles on rent.
The police said the accused duo used to take the cars on rent by offering good money to the victims. They used to put the cars on mortgage to different persons in Surat, Mehsana and in some districts of Maharashtra in lieu of money.
The police received complaints from different persons following which they arrested Deepak Raiyani and Manish Harsora. The cars were seized from the cities where they were kept on mortgage.
