3 friends drink and smoke in lift in Greater Noida, nabbed

NOIDA: A businessman from Greater Noida and his two friends were arrested on Sunday for allegedly smoking and drinking in a lift in Ace City society after a video of the incident was shared on social media.
The accused are Ankush Singh, Ashish Kaushik and Dilip Singh. While Ankush is a resident of Stellar jeevan society in Greater Noida, Ashish hails from Mathura and Dilip is from Delhi. Ankush is a businessman while Ashish and Dilip work in IT companies in Gurgaon.
The CCTV footage of the lift was shared widely and showed a group of people entering the lift, smoking and drinking, cops said. One of the men blows cigarette smoke at the camera as another changes its position so that the activities are not seen.
Anil Rajput, SHO of Bisrakh police station said that Ankush had purchased a flat in Ace City and on February 4, a house warming party was organised and Ankush and his friends went there with liquor bottles and cigarettes in their hands.
"We learnt about the incident after seeing the video. The three men have been arrested under Section 151 of CrPc and a challan of Rs 200 has been issued against Ankush for smoking in the lift," the SHO added. Cops said many such complaints from high-rise societies have started coming in wherein people have been arrested for drinking or smoking in public or getting into a fight.
