Bikers gang, miscreants on the radar of cops ahead of festivals
Jamshedpur: With four major festivals lined up this month, the district administration has gone on an extra vigilant mode.
Announcing to deploy troops at the sensitive religious places such as mosques and temples, besides, sensitive areas, ahead of Shab-e-Barat and Holi, the administration has started monitoring social networking platforms 24×7 to avert any attempt to spread provocative posts.
"The triple bike riders creating nuisance on the streets and doing stunts on modified bikes, causing trouble to the passerby are on the radar of the police," said DC, Vijaya Jadhav.
Further, she said that anyone trying to create trouble by posting unwanted posts on social media platforms will be strictly dealt with.
"Celebrate the festival with pomp and devotion, do not let the pious occasion get disturbed," the DC said, following a meeting of the Central Peace Committee (CPC) chaired jointly by herself and SSP, Prabhat Kumar, at the town hall in Sidhgora.
The SSP said that along with the 3000 police officials, two companies of RAF will be deployed in the urban circle during the festival period.
Besides, super zonal and zonal-wise deployment of magistrates will be done for an effective regulation of the law and order machinery.
The SSP said that a dedicated team of the technical cell of the police is monitoring the social media sites round the clock.
"If you come across any sensitive or provocative post on Facebook or Whatsapp, immediately alert police or the civil administration officials," said the SSP, in his appeal to the denizens.
Further, he advised people not to forward any sensitive post without proper verification.
The SSP also said that police will deal with the iron hand with trouble makers, miscreants and biker gangs.
"During the Durga puja, 350 bikes were seized, 200 of them are still with police," Kumar said.
"Beginning with Shab-e-Barat on March 7, and, Holi on March 8, the Chaiti Chhath is starting with Hindu new year on March 22.
The holy month of ramzan is beginning on March 22, and, Ramnavami will be observed on March 30. The CPC meeting discussed wide-ranging issues pertaining to the festivals.
“Several important issues come up for discussion at the meeting that aimed at ensuring peace and order during the festival period," said CPC,
General Secretary, Ram Babu Singh. Matters pertaining to electricity, water, road, and, cleanliness were also taken up, he said.
The special officers (SOs) of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) and Jugsalai Municipal Corporation (JMC), who were present at the meeting, have been asked to speed up the cleanliness drive in their respective areas.
