HYDERABAD: All India Congress programmes implementation committee chairman Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Saturday said K Chandrasekhar Rao became chief minister by exploiting the Telangana sentiment and now has disowned the name 'Telangana' by forming BRS to accomplish his dream of playing a role in national politics.
"KCR is an opportunist and tomorrow he may even suggest the merger of Telangana and
Andhra Pradesh if it suits his political goals. After coming to power on Telangana sentiment, KCR did not achieve the goals of neellu (water), nidhulu (funds) and niyamakalu (jobs). KCR gave up Telangana's share of water in Godavari and Krishna rivers to Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, pushed Telangana into 5 lakh crore huge debt and over 40 lakh youth are still jobless," alleged Maheshwar Reddy during his padayatra.
AICC in-charge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre said Congress will come to power as KCR misled the people with false promises. Congress cadres were exposing the failures of BRS and BJP governments, he said.
