Two bodies found within 24 hours in North Goa

Panaji: Within 24 hours, police discovered two male bodies at two different locations in North Goa. On Saturday, the body of Amit Gupta, a Haryana resident, was found floating on the Mandovi near Santa Monica jetty, Panaji.
Police said they found a phone worth around Rs One lakh on the deceased, along with cash and debit cards. They, however, said that panchnama of all the deceased’s belongings will take place once his family arrives. The body has been sent for postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of the death. The deceased’s family has been contacted and is on its way to Goa.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, police had found the body of a young man hanging from a tree in a thicket near the fields in Guirim. Further investigations in the case are on.
