NEW DELHI: Three juveniles, aged 15-17, were apprehended from north Delhi's Burari area for stealing motorcycles at nights for joyrides. Police said the trio would abandon the bikes once the fuel got finished.
On March 1, police said, a team was patrolling in plain clothes and, around 9pm, they saw the three boys riding a motorcycle without a number plate on the Mukandpur side.
Deputy commissioner of police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi said after seeing the patrolling staff, the trio tried to flee but was apprehended near Transport Authority.
The three juveniles are residents of Shahbad Dairy. They told cops that they had stolen the motorcycle from Kamalpur in Burari during night hours about a week ago. "They have also stolen another motorcycle from Sant Nagar area about two months ago. They would steal two-wheelers for joyrides and then dump the vehicles when they ran out of fuel," the officer said.
