Man killed for objecting to wife's harassment in Delhi's Samaypur Badli

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly for objecting to the harassment of his wife in Samaypur Badli, police said on Saturday, adding one person and seven juveniles have been held.

After receiving a call regarding the incident on Thursday, a team from the local police station reached the spot and found that Bablu had been taken to the hospital where doctors had declared him dead.
Deputy commissioner of police (outer north) Ravi Kumar said the scene was inspected.
According to police, the accused, Raju, harassed Bablu's wife in a drunken state. "Raju had come to meet someone when he saw the victim's wife and misbehaved with her. She informed her husband about it, which led to a scuffle," an officer said.
Another officer said, "After some time, Raju informed his son and another relative about the argument. Raju and his friends reached Bablu's room, thrashed him, stabbed him at least three times, leaving the knife in his stomach, and fled." A raid was conducted and he was arrested. Seven minors, including Raju's son and a relative, were apprehended.
A case under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) was registered, police said, adding they are investigating whether more people were involved .
Bablu, a native of Madhya Pradesh, had come to Delhi a few days ago and worked as a painter.
