Dentist accused of molesting girl in Bihar's Begusarai

BEGUSARAI: A 17-year-old was allegedly molested at a dentist's clinic in Begusarai during treatment on Friday.
In an FIR lodged at the women's police station, girl's mother Punam Devi said she took her daughter for treatment to Dr Rajeev Kumar Singh, a dental surgeon, at his clinic under Begusarai Town police station area. However, the doctor during treatment allegedly started making sexual overtures and even touching her private body parts inappropriately. Seeing his indecent behaviour, the girl started shouting.
Hearing the noise, Punam rushed inside to the dentist's chamber and started shouting.
After this, the family members of the girl also reached the clinic and created a ruckus.
Punam said seeing the family members at the clinic, the doctor started begging pardon. However, fearing trouble, the doctor and other medical staff of the clinic fled after locking the clinic. Punam alleged that the doctor even took away her daughter's medical prescription and x-ray with him.
SHO Avanti Kumari on Saturday said a case under Pocso Act has been registered and investigation is being carried out.
