Ludhiana: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora on Saturday inspected the ongoing work at elevated road project on Ludhiana-Ferozepur highway, and said he had been reassured by the NHAI officials that the project would be completed by June end.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project director K L Sachdeva and other members also accompanied him. He said he was completely satisfied as the work was going on at a good pace.
While admitting that the under-construction elevated road project has become a serious cause of traffic snarls, Arora appreciated the NHAI for assuring that work gets completed within the deadline. He said traffic issues would be solved once the project is completed.
The new elevated road would be four slip roads, one each near Verka Plant, PAU, Bhai Bala Chowk, and Hotel Park Plaza. There would also be a provision for the vehicular traffic to move towards the bus stand and Shri Durga Mata Mandir. The maximum speed limit on this road would be 80kmph.
Arora said he was happy to see NHAI strictly following all the norms in the project.
