TMC clerk booked for taking bribe

Thane: A clerk attached with Thane Municipal Corporation’s Mumbra ward tax department, and a private person have been booked for demanding bribe from a man. The accused have been identified as Nilesh Thakre, 40, clerk, and Vilas Mali, 51, private person, said ACB official. The police said the complainant wanted to transfer property tax receipt to his wife’s name, for which Thakre allegedly sent him to Mali who demanded Rs 5,000 to get it done.TNN
