Customer held for thrashing bike cabby in West Bengal

KOLKATA: The police arrested a man, Tushar Chowdhury of Dum Dum, for beating Soumen Ghosh, (23) a Rapido bike taxi driver and stealing his vehicle and phone on Saturday. The accused has been remanded in police custody for five days. The bike has been recovered.
“Ghosh dropped him near Jessop factory in Dum Dum. While paying the fare, Chowdhury thrashed him and stole the bike and phone,” said Kaushik Pandey, an investigating officer.
“The team led by SI Kaushik Pandey and Sandip Dey Sarkar tracked down the accused,” said Ajoy Prasad, DCP, South Zone, Barrackpore commissionerate.dum
