Minor rescued, 33-year-old held for rape from Bhopal

GURGAON: A 33-year-old man was arrested on Thursday from Bhopal for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl from Rajendra Park area and raping her.
The 15-year-old girl has been sent to her relatives after a medical examination. According to the cops, the accused, Mohammad Shadab alias Arman, used to work as a plumber and had eloped with the girl on February 26.
The girl is a class X student and had met the accused in a park a few months ago where he introduced himself as Arman, police added. Both of them then became friends and soon after they planned to run away.
The girl's family then filed an FIR at Rajendra Park police station and teams were formed to search her. Meanwhile, the minor had contacted the family when both of them were caught by railway police for travelling without ticket. This is when the cops rescued the girl and arrested the accused.
Praveen Kumar, SHO of Rajendra Park police station, said, "The girl was sent to the child welfare committee where she revealed that she was taken by the accused on the pretext of marriage. She also said that they boarded a train from Delhi to reach Bhopal on February 28, but were caught by the railway police on their way. She said she was raped repeatedly. We have registered a case under IPC section 363 (kidnapping) as well as relevant sections of Pocso Act."
