CBI court extends Manish Sisodia custody, case to be heard on March 10
Manish Sisodia has also alleged CBI of mental harassment and told the court that he is being asked the same questions repeatedly for 8-10 hours and termed it to be third-degree mental harassment.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was produced in a CBI court in Delhi on Saturday where the court heard the bail plea of the Aam Aadmi Party leader. As per reports, Sisodia’s bail request cited that his being in CBI custody serves no purpose.
The AAP leader approached Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court after the Supreme Court refused to entertain the matter and observed that Sisodia had adequate legal remedies before moving to the Apex Court in the matter.
As per reports, Manish Sisodia in his bail plea cited that as recoveries have been made in the case his custody to CBI serves no purpose. Following the CBI court’s reserved order, the custody of Manish Sisodia has been extended by 2 days.
The Central Bureau of India, in their argument in the court, told the court that the AAP leader is being evasive and noncooperative in disclosing facts during the investigation of the probe of the now-retracted liquor policy case.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia was taken into custody by the CBI on Sunday after 8 hours of questioning in the liquor police case. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had called on the CBI to probe into the now-scrapped liquor policy. Manish Sisodia has been alleged of corruption by the probe agency in the case.
Following the 51-year-old arrest, AAP workers across the country staged protests and took to the streets. Following Sisodia’s arrest, he also turned in his resignation from the Delhi cabinet. The arrest of the Sisodia was also deemed politically motivated by the Opposition parties.
As per the reports, the arrest of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia by the CBI was condemned by Kerala Chief Minister Pinaray Vijayan, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena leader weighed in to condemn his arrest.

Congress spokesperson Koustav Bagchi arrested for alleged remarks Mamata Banerjee
During the Congress leader’s arrest, he also spoke to the media and termed his arrest as illegal. He further slammed the TMC and said that his legal aid will see Banerjee in court and also fight the case in the streets.

The Kolkata Police, on Saturday, arrested Congress spokesperson and lawyer Koustav Bagchi for his derogatory remarks made on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Bagchi had made remarks on the West Bengal CM for her dig on the state Congress Chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
As per the reports, the arrest of the Congress leader comes days after the ruling TMC lost from their bastion Sagardigihi in the by-election in Murshidabad district.
The Congress leader was arrested by the Kolkata police on Saturday after a complaint was filed in the matter on Friday. As per the reports, a team from Burtolla police station raided Bagchi’s house at Barrackpore North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. As per the reports, the raid happened at 3:30 in the early morning following which the Congress leader was arrested.
The reports said that Congress’s Koustav Bagchi was taken to Burtolla Police station after his arrest. Following the Congres leader’s arrest, the party workers assembled at the police station to demonstrate against the police’s action.
The Congress leader was charged under sections 120b (criminal conspiracy), 153 (provocation to cause riot), 354a (sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), 506 (criminal intimidation) 509 (insult modesty of woman).
During the Congress leader’s arrest, he also spoke to the media and termed the police’s actions as illegal. He further slammed the TMC and said that his legal aid will see Banerjee in court and also fight the case in the streets.
The face-off between the Congress and Trinamool Congress escalated after the Congress and the Left dethroned the TMC from their bastion in the Sagardigihi constituency in the by-election.
Following the loss faced by TMC, Mamta Banerjee remarked against the Congress state chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and asked questions about his daughter’s suicide She further raised questions on the murder of Chowdhury’s driver. She told the media that she knows a lot of things and threatened them to not force her into opening her mouth.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin assures migrant workers amid rumours of attack on migrants, says will protect our migrant brothers
Bihar Chief Minister, after holding a review meeting on the matter with top officials, directed a team to go to Tamil Nadu and carry out confidence-building measures.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Saturday assured the migrant workers and promised that the state will stand with them in case of attack. The statement by the Tamil Nadu CM comes in the wake of rumors of migrant workers from Bihar being attacked in the state.
As per the reports, the officials from Bihar and Tamil Nadu have also dubbed the spreading news of Bihar migrant workers being attacked in Tamil Nadu as false. The fake news about the Bihar migrant workers being targeted has also been raised in the Bihar assembly.
However, CM MK Stalin has come forward to thwart the rumors and issued a statement where he assured migrant workers and asked them to not fear. He also said that if anyone threatens them, they can call on the helpline, and the Tamil Nadu government and the people will stand in support of the migrant brothers.
As per the reports, the migrant workers are scheduled to meet with the Bihar officials and local officials in the state. It has also been reported that the Bihar police and the Tamil Nadu Police are discerningly looking into the matter and have also told the media that fake news in the case are spreading over social media.

As per the reports, the District Collectors in Tamil Nadu requested the migrant workers to not be scared after the fake news spread and caused pandemonium among the migrant workers. The Police Director General C Sylendra Babu also said that two videos of the incident have been going viral on social media which are dated and happened in Tiruppur and Coimbatore.

Madal Virupakshappa’s son Prashant Kumar, who was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Wing while accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh, is a Karnataka Administrative Services officer and is currently posted as Chief Accountant in the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
In the raid of the Anti-Corruption Wing, about two crore rupees have been recovered from the office of KSDL and in the raid from the house of Prashant, about six crore rupees have been recovered. Investigation revealed that this bribe was given for awarding the contract for supply of raw material and the matter was settled for Rs 80 lakh, out of which Rs 40 lakh was given as the first instalment.
Moreover, Assembly elections are due in Karnataka later this year. In such a situation, the opposition Congress is preparing to raise this issue vigorously. The Congress has earlier also accused the Basavaraj Bommai government of embezzlement. On the other hand, the BJP government says that the Lokayukta has been re-implemented in Karnataka only to curb corruption. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said strict action would be taken against the guilty.
