BJP buying crowds too, says ex-CM of Karnataka Siddaramaiah

BELAGAVI: Reacting to a video in which he purportedly talks about paying Rs 500 to bring people to party programmes, Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah claimed he was referring to BJP.
The video has been widely shared. Siddaramaiah said, “I was saying that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow, BJP functionaries had brought people promising to pay them Rs 1,000 but only gave Rs 500.
People who came to the programme literally fought with BJP functionaries for deceiving them. People of the state have seen this. I was referring to this incident, but BJP twisted the issue.”
