Ludhiana: Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) leaders on Friday staged a protest against the Aam Aadmi Party-led state government at Ferozepur Road here. The leaders demanded a CBI probe into
Punjab excise policy, after the arrest of Delhi’s deputy CM Manish Sisodia for his alleged involvement in an excise scam.
The BJP leaders accused the AAP of being involved in a similar excise scam in Punjab, and also burnt an effigy of CM Bhagwant Mann.
BJP district president Rajnish Dhiman said, “The actual face of AAP government has been exposed with the arrest of Sisodia and now many others will go behind the bars. In Punjab also, similar excise policy was implemented where commission rate was increased from 5% to 10%. Therefore, we are demanding a CBI probe here in Punjab as well.” He said the ED was investigating the matter against many officials and AAP leaders. tnn
