Day after marriage, woman turns up for college exam in Bokaro
BOKARO: A newly-wed woman from Gomia block in Bokaro put her rituals on hold on Thursday to appear for her college examination.
Shivani Paswan, a student of KB College in Gomia’s Tenughat, got married on March 1. She was due to leave for her in-laws’ house on Thursday. However, she halted her customary ‘vidai’ ceremony and reached her examination centre.
Dressed in her bridal attire, Shivani walked into the hall to appear for the history paper of her third semester examination.
Her husband Aditya, a constable posted in Chatra, waited in the decorated car in which he had drove down to Shivani’s home the previous evening.
“I was apprehensive if my husband would approve of my idea to appear in the exam,” she said.
Shivani returned home for the ‘vidai’ and then headed to her in-laws’ house.
Aditya said, “I appreciate Shivani and promise her of support in the future too.”
