Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin assures migrant workers amid rumours of attack on migrants, says will protect our migrant brothers
Bihar Chief Minister, after holding a review meeting on the matter with top officials, directed a team to go to Tamil Nadu and carry out confidence-building measures.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Saturday assured the migrant workers and promised that the state will stand with them in case of attack. The statement by the Tamil Nadu CM comes in the wake of rumors of migrant workers from Bihar being attacked in the state.
As per the reports, the officials from Bihar and Tamil Nadu have also dubbed the spreading news of Bihar migrant workers being attacked in Tamil Nadu as false. The fake news about the Bihar migrant workers being targeted has also been raised in the Bihar assembly.
However, CM MK Stalin has come forward to thwart the rumors and issued a statement where he assured migrant workers and asked them to not fear. He also said that if anyone threatens them, they can call on the helpline, and the Tamil Nadu government and the people will stand in support of the migrant brothers.
As per the reports, the migrant workers are scheduled to meet with the Bihar officials and local officials in the state. It has also been reported that the Bihar police and the Tamil Nadu Police are discerningly looking into the matter and have also told the media that fake news in the case are spreading over social media.

As per the reports, the District Collectors in Tamil Nadu requested the migrant workers to not be scared after the fake news spread and caused pandemonium among the migrant workers. The Tamil Nadu Police also talked about the videos of migrant workers getting beaten on social media and called them to be fake.
The Police Director General C Sylendra Babu also said that two videos of the incident have been going viral on social media which are dated and happened in Tiruppur and Coimbatore.

The accused son is an officer of administrative service
Madal Virupakshappa’s son Prashant Kumar, who was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Wing while accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh, is a Karnataka Administrative Services officer and is currently posted as Chief Accountant in the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
In the raid of the Anti-Corruption Wing, about two crore rupees have been recovered from the office of KSDL and in the raid from the house of Prashant, about six crore rupees have been recovered. Investigation revealed that this bribe was given for awarding the contract for supply of raw material and the matter was settled for Rs 80 lakh, out of which Rs 40 lakh was given as the first instalment.
Moreover, Assembly elections are due in Karnataka later this year. In such a situation, the opposition Congress is preparing to raise this issue vigorously. The Congress has earlier also accused the Basavaraj Bommai government of embezzlement. On the other hand, the BJP government says that the Lokayukta has been re-implemented in Karnataka only to curb corruption. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said strict action would be taken against the guilty.

Sonia Gandhi admitted to Delhi’s Ganga Ram Hospital

The hospital has released a statement sharing the health update of the UPA chairperson.
Dr DS Rana, Chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said Smt Sonia Gandhi, chairperson of the UPA, has been admitted to the hospital under the supervision of Arup Basu, Senior Consultant of the Department of Chest Medicine, and his team on March 2, 2023, on account of fever. She is under observation and is undergoing investigations, he added.

Gandhi has been admitted to the hospital for the second time this year. Earlier, she was admitted in January for the treatment of a viral respiratory infection.
Recently, the former Congress chief attended the party’s 85th Plenary Session in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur where she alluded to her retirement from politics and said she was happy that her innings could conclude with the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Sonia Gandhi took over as Congress president in 1998, when the party was in power in just three states (Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Mizoram). The party is currently in power in only two states (Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh).
