Jharkhand IAS officer Pooja Singhal files discharge plea

RANCHI: Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal on Friday filed the discharge petition in the MGNREGA scam and money laundering case in which she is an accused. Earlier, the court had allowed time to Singhal to file the petition. The suspended officer, who was arrested in the case, is on bail at present. In a related development, the court has framed charges under sections 3 and 4 of the PMLA Act against Suman Kumar. He is a chartered accountant of Singhal’s husband, Abhishek Jha, and an accused in the case. TNN
