#NewsBytesExclusive: 'Sheezan Khan to be out by evening,' says lawyer
Actor Sheezan Khan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Saturday

A little over two months after television actor Tunisha Sharma's alleged suicide, her former boyfriend, co-star, and accused, actor Sheezan Khan has finally been granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Saturday. Khan, through his lawyer, had approached the Bombay HC after a Vasai court rejected his bail plea in January. To note, Sharma allegedly committed suicide on December 24, 2022.

Bail was granted on a bond of Rs. 1 lakh

Speaking exclusively to NewsBytes, Khan's lawyer Shailendra Mishra informed that the bail was granted by the HC on the grounds of merit. A bond of Rs. 1 lakh was also signed for the bail. "Hopefully, Khan is expected to come out of jail by the evening," Mishra told NewsBytes. Khan has been lodged at the Thane Jail since he was arrested by Waliv Police.

Khan was arrested a day after Sharma's death

A day after Sharma's death, Khan was arrested by the Waliv Police on charges of abetment to suicide. He was sent to a three-day police remand initially and was later sent to judicial remand. Khan's bail plea was first heard by the Vasai Court on January 7 and was rejected on January 13. He spent two months inside the Thane Jail.

    Sharma's co-star said she wasn't depressed

Last month, Sharma's Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul co-star Chandan K Anand, in an interview with Hindustan Times, claimed that the late actor was not depressed. He told HT, "People are saying she was depressed. She wasn't depressed. I feel bad when people think she was depressed. She got hurt, felt bad, and rest only she knows what happened. I don't know."

    All about Sharma's death

The 21-year-old actor, who played the female protagonist in the television show, allegedly committed suicide on the sets of Ali Baba: Daastan-E-Kabul. Sharma was in a relationship with Khan, who was also her co-star in the show. The couple had reportedly parted ways days before Sharma's death. Sharma's mother had accused Khan of her daughter's death and filed a complaint against him.
