MANDYA: Union parliamentary affairs and coal and mines minister Prahlad Joshi said plans are afoot to hold a roadshow by Prime Minister Modi during the launch of Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway on March 12.
According to him, one lakh people will attend the launch event at Gejjalagere while discussions are on about the PM holding the roadshow, which, Joshi, said can accomodate an additional 40,000 to be part of the event. Speaking to reporters after inspecting the site at Gejjalagere on Mandya-Maddur border, the minister said the roadshow is yet to be finalised. He said Modi will also launch work to build a four-lane National Highway between Mysuru and Kushalnagar in Kodagu district during the launch of the expressway.
The logistics cost in India has increased, which can be reduced by saving time through better connectivity, including roadways and railways. As part of this project, Rs 10 lakh crore has been earmarked in the
budget for infrastructure development, Pralhad Joshi said.
