Estimates for seasonally adjusted index of industrial turnover for the country in December 2022 increased by 0.7 per cent month-on-month (MoM), which was a rise of 0.8 per cent in the domestic market and 0.6 per cent in the non-domestic one, according to a press release by the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat).
The calendar adjusted industrial turnover index grew by 9 per cent YoY in December 2022. This was a surge of 14.7 per cent in the domestic market and 15.2 per cent in the non-domestic market, respectively. Calendar working days in December 2022 were 20, two less than December 2021.
Looking at the turnover volume for the manufacturing sector, the seasonally adjusted index increased by 0.9 per cent in December 2022. In Q4 2022, the index decreased by 0.3 per cent compared with the previous one. The calendar adjusted volume turnover index increased by 4.4 per cent when compared with the same month a year earlier.
