Umesh Pal murder case: Gangster Atiq Ahmed moves SC seeking protection of life

Gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, who is currently lodged in a Gujarat prison and has been made an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, has moved the Supreme Court seeking protection of life. Ahmed's plea, in which he has demanded that he shouldn't be handed over to the UP Police as he will be eliminated, will be heard on March 17. Ahmed has claimed that the UP govt has already decided to eliminate him and this is evident when the CM said in the House that he will wipe out mafia in the state. Atiq Ahmed has also said that his minor sons may already have been taken in custody by the UP police and he also fears for their life.
