Rs 25 lakh stolen from Saral Kendra in Karnal mini secretariat

KARNAL: Unidentified Miscreants stole nearly Rs 25 lakh from a government-run Saral Kendra located on the ground floor of the Karnal mini secretariat.
According to the police, the incident took place on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
A police team along with forensic experts reached the spot and started the investigation.
In his complaint to the police, Manoj Kumar, MRC and DLC posted at sub-division office alleged that on Wednesday, an employee had gone to bank to deposit the amount, but due to technical reasons, the cash could not be deposited. Due to which, they had kept the cash in the locker. Next day, the lock of the strong room was found open and the cash missing.
However, CCTV cameras were installed inside or outside the office, but the thieves took away the DVR of the cameras.
Police teams are scrutinising the cameras installed nearby to check the movement of any suspicious persons.
