Noida, Mar 2 (PTI) Two people were injured in a fire at a laundry shop in Noida Sector 53 on Thursday morning, officials said.

The fire was reported around 10.15 am, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Choubey said.

Immediately, three fire tenders and fire-fighters were rushed to the site. Before the fire-fighters reached the spot, some people tried to douse the fire in which two of them suffered minor injuries, Choubey said.

“One of them is the owner of the shop, Rudra Prasad (45), and the other is Ram Swaroop (44), who works in the shop. Both have been admitted to hospital for treatment,” the officer said.

Prime facie, the fire appears to have been caused by an electric short-circuit, he added.

A detailed probe is underway. PTI KIS ABH SZM
