RAJKOT: A seven-year-old boy died of severe injuries after being gored by a bull in a village of Surendranagar district.
The incident that happened in Nani Timbla village of Limbdi taluka on February 27 came to light on Wednesday. The boy, Viraj Metadiya, who studied in Class 1, was going to school when two bulls were fighting each other on the road. Viraj was gored by one of the bulls and rushed to the hospital but he died on the way.
His father and other family members are engaged in farming. Sources said that two years ago, the villagers had pooled in money and arranged for sending the stray cows and bulls to a panjrapol (cattle pound). However, the stray bovine menace has again reared its head here.
It's worth mentioning here that a middle-aged man named Sanjay Rawal died of severe head injuries in a similar incident reported from Gondal town a fortnight ago. He lost control of his bike when two raging bulls fighting each other suddenly came on the road.
