Bus kills couple in Netraona
A man and his wife were killed after being hit by a bus at Atpara upazila in Netrakona district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased were Azharul Islam, 44, a resident of Satgaon village under Khaliajuri upazila of the district, and his wife Chaina Chowdhury, 34.
Locals said Azharul Islam was going to Khaliajuri from Netrakona riding on a motorcycle with his wife. On the way, a bus hit them from behind in Matikata-Krishnapur area of Netrakona-Madan road.
Locals rescued the two and took to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Netrakona additional superintendent of police Fakruzzaman Jewel confirmed the matter.
