Blood storage unit is now operational at CHC Kalyanpur

Kanpur: A blood storage unit at Community Health Centre Kalyanpur became operative from Wednesday which will provide better health facilities to the peoples of the rural areas.With the establishment of the unit, anemia patients will be able to get immediate treatment.
Chief medical officer Dr Alok Ranjan said that with the establishment of a blood storage unit at the Community Health Centre, women with low hemoglobin during delivery would get benefitted.
The unit would also be made available to the patients in emergency need in the Community Health Centre. The district health department, which is engaged in increasing health facilities, would also be able to make available blood to the needy in the rural areas.
District maternal health consultant Dr Hari Shankar Mishra said that only two CHCs Kalyanpur and Sarsaul have been given the licence for the blood storage unit. The unit in Kalyanpur received blood from UHM hospital blood bank, he added.
“Now the block residents will not have to turn to the district headquarters. Critical patients will be benefited the most from this unit”, said medical superintendent of CHC Kalyanpur Dr Avinash Yadav.
