‘No plaints received on NH liquor shops’
Jaipur: Medical and health minister Parsadi Lal Meena told the Assembly on Wednesday that no complaint had been received for violation of liquor sales on national highways. He assured that action will be taken if any complaint is received.
According to the rules, liquor shops can be set up 100 meters away from highways.
Meena said in order to stop the sale of liquor from approved shops after 8pm, the department regularly conducts road patrolling and continuously monitors it. Till January, 26 cases had been registered against liquor licensees for sale of liquor after 8pm in Jaipur district. He claimed that in the Jaipur district, liquor is not being sold illegally from any place other than the liquor shops approved by the government. He said during 2022-23, a total of 1,245 cases have been registered in excise circles of Jaipur till January 2023 related to illegal liquor.
