BENGALURU: The 25-year-old executive of a private healthcare firm, who was reportedly stabbed to death by her lover just outside her workplace in Murugeshpalya on Tuesday, had blocked the assailant's number on her mobile phone and WhatsApp.
Dinakar Banala, 28, an employee of a healthcare company in Domlur, told police that he and the victim, Leela Pavithra Nalamati, were in love since 2017 while they were studying in college. Leela worked as the executive assistant of Omega Healthcare Management Services Private Limited. Leela was his senior in college. Both were from Andhra Pradesh.
He claimed he and Leela were in love for more than five years and had decided to marry. However, she started avoiding him for the last few months, claiming that her parents were opposed to their marriage as he belonged to a different caste.
According to Dinakar, she was influenced by her mother and started avoiding him. So, he wanted to discuss the matter with her. He said he took a knife along with him as he had decided to kill her if she refused to marry him, police said.
