Oil holds gains on China rebound, even as U.S. crude stocks rise
Oil prices inched up in early Asian trade on Thursday, extending gains from the previous two sessions on signs of a strong economic rebound in China, the world's top oil importer, which offset worries about a rise in U.S. crude inventories.

A rally in Asian shares sputtered on Thursday, pressured by a pullback in Chinese stocks and higher U.S. yields amid fears that global central banks would keep raising interest rates to combat sticky inflation.MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan lost 0.3%, reversing some of the 2.1% gain in the previous session - the index's best day in two months. Japan's Nikkei, on the other hand, eased 0.2%.
SGX Nifty signals a negative start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 28 points, or 0.16 per cent, lower at 17,491.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Thursday.
Tech View: Nifty bulls not yet out of the woods
While bouncing back in the green zone after a long gap of 8 sessions, Nifty today formed a long bull candle, but the broader trend remained bearish.
Tokyo shares open higher
Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday despite overnight falls of US tech shares, with investors keeping a firm eye on US inflation.The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.19 percent, or 50.93 points, to 27,567.46 in early trade, while the broader Topix index added 0.18 percent, or 3.54 points, to 2,001.35.
S&P, Nasdaq weak as manufacturing stokes Fed concerns
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell for a second straight session on Wednesday as Treasury yields jumped after manufacturing data indicated inflation is likely to remain stubbornly high, while comments from Federal Reserve policymakers supported a hawkish policy stance.

The rupee appreciated by 9 paise to close at 82.49 against the US dollar on Wednesday as a positive trend in domestic equities and easing crude oil prices supported investor sentiments.
