Nagaland student abused near Kalina campus in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A student from Nagaland doing his masters in sociology was the victim of abuse from a group of people outside the university campus in Kalina last month, said the police on Wednesday.
The police said a group of five to seven people threw water balloons and hurled abuses and threats at Tiapong Tzudir (24) when he stepped outside the campus for dinner on February 26. Tzudir is a well-known YouTuber popularly known as the ‘Yatra Kid’.
A non-cognizable (NC) offence was registered. “An NC under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered against unknown persons. According to the complaint, the incident occurred outside the Kalina university campus,” said DCP (zone VIII) Dikshit Gedam.
Tzudir shot the incident on his mobile camera. He told the police that with the help of community leaders, he and his friends identified the attackers in the video and called for a meeting later that night with their parents, but they did not turn up.
