Ranchi-Patratu highway closed on March 3
RAMGARH: The 34-km four-lane Ranchi-Patratu state highway, which passes through picturesque hills, will be closed on March 3 for public as the G-20 delegates are scheduled to take the route for their excursion trip to Patratu Lake Resort. G20 summit meetings will be held in Ranchi on Thursday.
Ramgarh SP Piyush Pandey, who along with deputy commissioner Madhavi Mishra reviewed the preparation and security deployment on Tuesday, said, “Ranchi-Patratu state highway would be closed for vehicular movement on March 3. There will be three-tier security all along the route.”
The Patratu Lake Resort is closed till March 4.
The general manager of JTDC, Alok Prasad, said the Patratu Lake Resort is ready with a new look to host the G-20 delegates. At least 70 guests will arrive from Ranchi on March 3 morning for a fun-filled trip. They will also witness cultural programmes like tradition pyka and chhau dance performances by local artistes.
Meanwhile, the local boatmen here rued the losses being incurred by them as the administration has kept the tourists out of bounds for the delegates. Here, 75 boats are operated by various cooperative societies of nearby villagers.
Arjun Munda (45), a boatmen in Patratu Lake Resort, who hails from Netua village under Patratu block, said, “While we are facing a loss these days due to the administrative step, we are happy that this place will be visited by global tourists.”
