Stock market update: Power stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:21AM

Adani Transmissions(up 5.00%), ADANIGREEN(up 4.99%), Adani Power(up 4.98%), PTC India(up 4.97%), Karma Energy(up 4.12%), KPI Green Energy(up 2.16%), Indowind Energy(up 1.26%), Inox Wind Energy(up 1.03%), GE Power India Limited(up 0.73%) and Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.71%) were among the top gainers.

JSW Energy(down 2.48%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.46%), RTNPOWER(down 1.43%), Hitachi Energy India(down 1.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.32%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.19%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.10%), Energy Development Company(down 1.08%), NLC India(down 1.07%) and DPSC(down 0.85%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.45 points down at 17368.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 313.2 points at 59097.88 at around 11:21AM.

Coal India(up 1.9%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.29%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.06%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.87%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.54%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.51%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.5%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.46%), HCL Technologies(up 0.37%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 1.94%), Axis Bank(down 1.76%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.56%), Infosys(down 1.44%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.29%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.28%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.27%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.21%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.07%) and Hindalco Industries(down 1.04%) were trading in the red.
