COIMBATORE: On account of the Koniamman Temple festival in the Big Bazaar area, the traffic wing of the city police have made following changes in traffic arrangements between 10am and 10pm on Wednesday.
Vehicles entering Chetty Street and Raja Street from Perur to the area around temple will be banned while vehicles should take right at the corporation school in Selvapuram to reach their destinations via the Ashok Nagar roundabout and Perur Bypass Road.
Vehicles bound to Perur via Vysial Street and Chetty Street should make a detour via Perur Bypass Road, Ashok Nagar roundabout, the Sethumavaikkal checkpost and Shivalaya Junction.
Similarly, vehicles will not be allowed to enter the temple area from Maruthamalai Road via Telungu Street. Vehicles should instead take a route passing Gandhi Park, Ponnaiah Raja Puram, Sokkam Pudur, Ramamoorthy Road, Shivalaya Junction and Selvapuram Corporation School and the Ashok Nagar roundabout.
Vehicles bound to Maruthamalai Road and Mettupalayam Road from Ukkadam should take Perur Bypass, the Ashok Nagar roundabout, Sethumavaikkal checkpost, Shivalaya Junction, Ramamoorthy Road, Sokkampudur, Ponnaiah Raja Puram and Gandhi Park.No vehicles will be allowed into Raja Street, Oppanakara Street, Vysial Street and KG Street.Heavy vehicles will be banned from entering the city between 8am and 10pm.
Devotees can park their two-wheelers at a corporation parking site on Raja Street and four-wheelers under the flyover in front of the Ukkadam police station.
