Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:11AM

KIOCL(up 5.84%), Pokarna(up 3.25%), 20 Microns(up 2.75%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.19%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.12%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.84%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.31%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.08%), MOIL(up 0.83%) and Aro Granite Industries(up 0.24%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 1.69%), Coal India(down 0.09%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.15 points up at 17425.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 381.44 points at 59343.56 at around 11:11AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 14.6%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 3.24%), Hindalco Industries(up 3.13%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.0%), Axis Bank(up 1.99%), UPL Ltd(up 1.87%), State Bank of India(up 1.67%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.58%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.5%) and Tata Consultancy(up 1.48%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.66%), Britannia Industries(down 1.34%), Cipla(down 0.54%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.41%), SBI Life(down 0.39%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.27%), Eicher Motors(down 0.16%) and Coal India(down 0.09%) were trading in the red.
