Kolkata's Jadavpur University students hurt in campus scuffle

KOLKATA: A scuffle broke out on Jadavpur University campus on Tuesday between some students of the department of engineering and four outsiders.
The problem started around 4pm when the outsiders were found intoxicated and asked to leave the campus.
They allegedly attacked the protesting students and one of the engineering students suffered a head injury. Sources said he was attacked with a helmet. Another student had a bite injury on the arms. Both of them were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The outsiders were detained and taken to Aurobindo Bhaban. JU lodged a complaint with Jadavpur PS and handed them over to cops. Pro-VC Chiranjib Bhattacharya said, "This is a very unfortunate incident."
