Just like many brands, Nothing was also present at the MWC event in Barcelona. The only difference is while others launched or showcased products, it took the stage to make an announcement. Nothing has officially confirmed its next smartphone Nothing Phone 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor.
The announcement was made by Carl Pei, CEO and founder of Nothing, as he was joined by Qualcomm executives on the stage. The exact processor name has not been revealed for obvious reasons. If the phone releases in the second half of the year, we may even see it featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 but it should at least have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This is the same chipset we have seen on the likes of the OnePlus 11 5G and Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

The new unveiling is not exactly a surprise as Pei had already revealed Nothing Phone 2 will be a more premium device. It will also be the first smartphone from the company to get an official launch in the United States. The company has taken care of all the requirements related to the U.S. release including partnering with carriers. Pei says the U.S. is a huge market for them and will surely help its market share in a significant manner.
If we talk about rumors, the Nothing Phone 2 is reported to have an AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to have at least 12GB RAM along with virtual RAM and 256GB storage space. There is said to be a bigger 5,000mAh battery in comparison to the Nothing Phone 1. We will keep you updated with more details and reports as they will emerge.
